About
Virtual Assistance is run by Nicola Clark from a fully equipped home office near Margate, Kent. The business was started in 2003 after Nicola found herself quickly outgrowing traditional sales, marketing and PA roles. Virtual Assistance was a relatively new field, something that a select few Executive PA’s were setting up as home-based businesses as a way to share their extensive knowledge of business, administration and marketing with a wider audience.
Initially, the business was to provide general support and administration. Nicola began doing work such as transcription, accounts, dictation of correspondence, mailshots and research. Clients included small businesses, individuals and entrepreneurs. During this early period, Nicola also self-taught website design and development. Her first long-term client was a large, international charity, for whom she began to offer administrative support wherever needed across the entire organisation, including event organisation and prospecting.
The next long-term client, who remains a client to this day, was an entrepreneur starting a couple of businesses mainly involving online marketing and Nicola was proud to have supported him as the businesses took off and grew. This is where Nicola’s online skills have really been honed. Working with an ever evolving and expanding London-based digital agency, Nicola has stayed on the cutting edge of online marketing, becoming expert on:
SEO
SMM
Microsite building
Data collation, insights and analysis
She continues to work with digital agencies, offering her expertise as a freelance, “virtual” employee, while continuing to offer a variety of services to both local and national clients.
